Charles and Ray Eames have turned their boundless enthusiasm and curiosity into designs that have established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their work with Herman Miller® began in the late 1940s, and their unique synergy led to a whole new look and feel in furniture. Over the years they developed an impressive collection, most of which is featured on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

The work that Charles and Ray Eames did was a combination of art and science, process and product, design and architecture, style and function. Throughout the decades, they began each project by asking the same questions: “Does it interest and intrigue us? Can we make it better? Will we have serious fun doing it?” Charles and Ray truly loved their work, and their devotion to modern design led to an impressive attention to every aspect of their creations. That they did, and they also made it a lot more interesting.
